Membership is first obtained at the national level through MTNA (Music Teachers National Association). This is where you start, since this is how you will become a state (OMTA) and local (Salem District OMTA) member as well. To apply for national membership, please follow this link: MTNA Membership.

Attention all members:

Continuing this year, 2023, the Salem district board has created a one-time rebate incentive for new members' local dues and also, those renewing with an absence of ten years or more. So, if you know of other music teachers who are considering joining, please let them know of this opportunity.

Welcome new members!

After joining, you will be receiving a one-time rebate for the local (Salem) district dues (between $5 and $20) for this year's membership fee. Our hope is that you take advantage of and enjoy our many opportunities for teachers and students alike. Educational programs for teachers are very stimulating, and performance events for students are wonderful incentives along their musical journey. There are also plenty of ways to volunteer and get acquainted with other members.
